Trackit 2D

Trackit 2D is used to track an animal using a single camera, e.g. walking animals or animals flying at a constant altitude. The system is highly configurable. For example, Pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras can be used to track small animals across extended space while allowing a detailed image analysis to extract body features. Enhanced image analysis provides a robust detection of the tracked animal and a robust and precise parameter extraction, including heading direction. In case of fixed cameras, background subtraction provides optimal detection of the animal against irregular (static) backgrounds. The system operates in real time: Data streamed over a network interface can be used to control external devices in real time, such as reward delivery or stimulus control systems. Software interfaces are provided to common control software, such as LabView, Simulink, etc., or custom programmed for the application at hand.
